Playground Improvements
7/5/2010

During one of those "Why didn't we think of this before?" moments, this weekend we removed the chainlink fence between the back patio and the little playground. This opened the whole area up and gave the kids a concrete pad for their riding toys. We purchased two new riding toys and some traffic signs to celebrate!

The big kids playground will be getting some attention this summer also. We will be hanging a basketball goal this week for them to shoot hoops. In addition, the Henderson family generously donated a large wooden play structure. It needs cleaning up and some of the wood will need to be replaced before we let that many kids loose on it, but our plan is to have it rebuilt and in place before school starts. If there is a handy dad or mom who wants to volunteer to help us repair and relocate it please contact the office.

New Playground Equipment
3/18/2010

We had been planning on fixing up the playgrounds this summer, but when the Big Top Toys salesman pulled up with his trailer of toys in front of a playground full of kids, the plans changed! Ms. Rebecca couldn't say no with so many little faces peering through the fence, and he left with a lighter load. It looks like he has her figured out now since he showed up again the next week and left a bunch of Beginners happy on the little playground!

Spring Gardening Contest

Each class has been given a designated area of the grounds to grow a Spring Garden. Garden gnomes holding signs with the name of each class mark the areas. In addition to being a fun learning project for the children, the school grounds got a wonderful freshening from all of the kid's hard work! A Spring Art Show will be held on Friday, March 19th to celebrate the gardens and art projects the children have been working on.
